The impact of maturation delay of mosquitoes on mosquito-borne disease transmission

Abstract

In this paper, a mosquito-borne disease model, which address the impacts of the aquatic stage of mosquitoes on mosquito-borne disease transmission, is proposed and analyzed. The dynamical behaviors of the model are analyzed theoretically and numerically. The basic reproduction number which is a monotone decreasing function with respect to the delay has been figured out. Our results imply that the increasing of temperature may exacerbates mosquito-borne disease transmission.
