Global stability of a fractional epidemiological SIQR model with two strains: delta and omicron coronavirus mutations
Abstract
In this paper, we suggest a fractional epidemic model SIQR (Susceptible-Infectious-Quarantined-Recovered) specifically designed for two strains, Omicron and Delta Mutations. We first formulate the model and show that is well-posed. We then perform global stability to identify the conditions in which the endemic and disease-free equilibria are stable by using suitable Lyapunov functionals and applying LaSalle’s invariance principle. Finally we conduct numerical simulations to verify our theoretical conclusions and to illustrate the impact of various parameters on the dynamics of the epidemic.
